The bathrooms are also lovely, clad in marble with brass fittings. Due to its elegance, the hotel has appeared in numerous films and television programs.

The Jefferson Hotel (5-star)

While many DC hotels feature more modern designs, The Jefferson keeps it traditional. The hotel resides in a residential building from the 1920s. It chose to honor not only the history of the property but also its namesake, Thomas Jefferson. The 99-room property features elegant decorative elements such as marble fireplaces, dresser curtains (with images of Jefferson’s house, Monticello) and ancient volumes in the library. And don’t miss the documents signed by Jefferson that line the public spaces.

Even with its historic design, the hotel is equipped with modern amenities. The major renovation in 2009 introduced embedded televisions in bathroom mirrors and smart buttons to call the cleaning service or request privacy.

The Michelin-star Plume restaurant serves seasonal dishes accompanied by an extensive wine list. Head to the Quill lounge bar to choose from a wide range of cocktails. The Jefferson offers a 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour butler service, and massages at the Petite Spa.

Mandarin Oriental (5-star)

Mandarin Oriental is located in downtown Washington, DC, 730 meters from L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station. In Muze, you can have American food with Asian influence throughout the day or have cocktails and snacks in the Empress Lounge lounge bar.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel is just a few minute’s walk from almost all national monuments and a 12-minute drive from Ronald Reagan National Airport.

Top Executive Restaurants in DC

When you visit the capital of the United States, you will enjoy a gastronomic panorama as colorful and eclectic as the country itself. You can expect each meal in each restaurant to be different from five-star dishes served in silver fountains to “chili bowls” of famous coffee shops. There is only one thing that all local Washington flavors have in common: everything is delicious.

Seven Reasons

Seven Reasons seeks to reflect the culture of both co-owners, one Argentinean, and the other Venezuelan, with flavors from both lands. This restaurant tops the Washington Post list of the best places to eat in Washington, DC in fall 2019. The menu is divided into several parts and offers a unique experience for the palate. On the one hand, there are starters like banana ravioli stuffed with skate and the tentacle of fried octopus, sprinkled with charred onion. On the other, there is a menu of desserts and signature drinks to delight you. The highlight of this restaurant is the cheese-stuffed golden arepas.

Vegetarians can savor cauliflower tartare, roasted sweet potato with crimson beet puree and an almond and chipotle vinaigrette.

Annie’s Paramount Steakhouse

Annie’s Paramount Steakhouse is located near DuPont Circle. It is about 10 minutes away from the White House and 20 minutes from the National Mall. The restaurant prides itself on its friendly and lively atmosphere. It is a longtime favorite restaurant for the city locals because the menus are affordable and delicious. Prime rib steak, southern fried chicken, burgers, as well as the uniquely named  “bull in a pan” are the must-try dishes. The average price for burgers and sandwiches is around $11. Steaks range from $18 to $49.

&Pizza

Considered by many as the best pizza in town, &Pizza has a wide variety of pizzas for you to choose from. They also have a peculiar, sweet pizza covered in chocolate. You can have your own pizza according to your taste or even make one yourself! The only downside is that it is a small place and is usually crowded so you may try to go during off-peak hours if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal.

&Pizza has many branches around the city, but the most popular one is the one near the White House and the National Mall. The most loved options include Maverick Pizza, Unlimited Topping Pizza, as well as Moonstruck Pizza.

The Crimson Diner

The Crimson Diner sits in the heart of Chinatown. It is relatively new but is popular with tourists and also locals alike. It is a 20-minute walk from the National Mall and less than a five-minute walk from the Capital One Arena, the home of the Washington Wizards.

The Crimson Diner offers dishes that you would not usually find in regular diners. Don’t forget to try their pink devil eggs, crimson burger, as well as hush puppies and fried green tomatoes. The restaurant also operates a whiskey bar, as well as a seasonal rooftop bar.
