Moreover, it features countless opportunities for exploring local culture through food, sights, and events, making it a common destination for business travel and tourism alike.

Today, Dallas is the third most popular destination for business travel in the USA. Located in the Southwest, it is the beating heart of the financial and business world in the area. You may have heard of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, which holds many Fortune 500 companies, including Samsung, Fossil, Nokia, American Airlines, Toyota, and more. Several of these companies have substantial business or headquarters in the Dallas area.

For tourists, Dallas offers an array of cultural sights including the Dallas Museum of Art, which hosts a global collection of fine artworks spanning over 5000 years of art history, the Klyde Warren Park, which provides green space and opportunities for outdoor activities, and the Deep Ellum, a cultural hub with live music and local arts.

Dallas also offers high-class cuisine, exquisite shopping, and outstanding hotels. This makes Dallas an excellent destination for business travel. Thousands of people from across the globe come to visit Dallas each year to attend meetings, close deals, network, or visit one of the signature conference centers of the city. Since so many companies have important locations in the Dallas area, the city’s two airports, are key destinations for itinerant entrepreneurs.

Are you planning a business trip to Dallas? This article offers ample information on business travel that you will find useful.

Flying to/from Dallas directly or via New YorkBritish Airways

Dallas has two major airports, Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL). If you’re flying directly to Dallas from London, your itinerary will take you to Fort Worth International Airport. Located between Dallas and Fort Worth, DFW is the third busiest airport in the world and among the largest in the United States. Business travelers are most likely to travel through here. DFW has five airport terminals, each designed as a circle. It is a hub for American Airlines, but many other airlines fly into DFW, including Delta and United.

Flight costs depend on when you are booking, where you are flying from, and who you are flying with. British Airways offers direct flights from Heathrow to DFW for about $1000. A flight with one or more stops is usually cheaper; British Airways has offers below $700. Many business travelers enter Dallas from New York. Both Delta and United offer flights under $80 from New York La Guardia Airport to DFW.

Dallas Love Field Airport is smaller but close to Dallas’s business district downtown. Its amenities are therefore suited for the needs of executive and corporate travelers. Love Field is served by major airlines including Southwest, United, and Delta. If you have a stopover and are traveling to Dallas from New York or another American city, your itinerary is likely to take you through Love Field. You can purchase flights from La Guardia or JFK New York airport to DAL for about $100.

Getting to/from the airport

Traveling to/from DFW

When traveling from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Dallas city, you should plan for some extra time. During rush hour, you might want to schedule as much as 2-3 hours to be on the safe side.

There are plenty of ways to get from DFW to downtown Dallas. The easiest way to travel downtown is via a shared-ride shuttle because these services offer door to door transport. The trip from DFW to most downtown hotels is about 20 miles, which typically costs around $30. Taxis provide alternative services at a fee of about $54 for the same distance.

Note that it is illegal to hail taxis from the curbside.

You must notify the taxi company in advance; you can do this either at the airport or even from home. Some Dallas Taxi companies include Cowboy Cab Company (+1-214-428-0202) and Yellow Checker (+1-214-426-6262).

As in most American cities, it may be worth picking up a rental car, because it provides extra flexibility and convenience. Plus, especially if you are going to a meeting on the outskirts of Dallas, it may save you some money. You can order a rental car directly from the airport with the company. Companies such as Alamo, Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, and National are serving at DFW.

If you prefer public transport, you should take the DART Rail (Dallas Area Rapid Transit). The Orange Line will take you from the lower level of Terminal A directly to downtown Dallas. A one-way ticket for Dallas bus and rail services costs as little as $1.50. You can get express or premium services for $2.50. A day pass costs $3, a weekly pass $15. Premium services will cost slightly more.

Traveling to/from DAL

Because Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) is so close to the city center, especially the business district, you only need to plan for about a 20-minute trip. Several rental car companies serve DAL, including Alamo, Avis, Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise, or National.

You can get a Taxi at the lower level of Terminal 2. Plan for a fee of about $18 for a Taxi ride to downtown Dallas from Love Field. Traveling from the airport, you cannot hail a taxi on the curb; be sure to notify the company at the airport before your ride. However, when in downtown Dallas, it is legal to hail taxis on the street from your hotel.

At Dallas Love Field Airport, public transport is available via the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).

ESTA Guide USA – Dallas Business Hotels

When choosing accommodation in Dallas for your business trip, you have many different options. There are luxurious five-star hotels, comfortable mid-range hotels, and cheaper options for a trip on a budget. Luckily, Dallas is not as expensive as some other popular business destinations in the United States, such as New York or Los Angeles. This means you may well be able to afford a more luxurious hotel in Dallas than you would in other cities.

Because Dallas is such a business-centered city, what we call “Downtown Dallas” is also the Dallas Central Business District. It is located right at the heart of the city and is surrounded by the downtown freeway loop. If you’re on a corporate trip to Dallas, chances are that your meetings will take place in this area. Luckily, there are plenty of excellent accommodations within this district, allowing you to swiftly travel from your hotel to your meeting.

Alternatively, if you are going on a short trip, your meeting is more on the outskirts of Dallas, or you simply have a prolonged stopover in Dallas, there is a highly recommended Hyatt Regency and a Sheraton (both 4-star) at DFW International Airport.

Below, we are introducing three hotel options in the Dallas Central Business District which are excellent for executive travel.
